Summer Review

Random fact: I live by making lists. I do. I have completely filled notebooks with lists of just about every kind.
While mourning the loss of summer the other day, I reflected on the finer moments of the season, and ended up with this summer review list (the first list of many to come, I'm sure). My apologies, a few of these are inside jokes.

1. Best song of summer: “Healing Begins” by Tenth Avenue North. Really, really beautiful new song by a great band. I listened to it over and over.

2. Best snack of summer: sliced tomatoes spread with miracle whip and mustard. I'm being serious.

3. Best movie: Inception. It completely blew my mind. Halfway through the movie I realized that I was gripping my seat and breathing heavily. Thankfully, I realized I wasn't the only so engrossed, the man next to me kept whispering, "No, no, no!"

4. Best new activity: rappelling = so much fun! I was more than a little scared when my twig of a twelve year old belayer's voice cracked as he told me not to worry, but it was a great experience.

5. Best quote of summer: this really made me laugh cause it was so outrageous. I’m not sure if it was meant to be a joke or not. “The Internet’s completely over . . . all these computers and digital gadgets are no good. They just fill your head with numbers and that can’t be good for you.” -Prince

6. Best hairdo of summer: up Girl’s Camp style! (My props to Tiana Truman for designing these)

7. Best morning of summer: waking up, eating super-sugary cereal and hitting the courts

8. Best band of summer: “The Sunstreak” I just discovered this band, and they are on pretty much every playlist of mine right now. What better name for a "best of summer" band anyway?

9. Best way to spend a spare 15 minutes: Catnap. I've never been one for napping, but sometimes when I laid down for a few minutes, I'd wake up a short time later, feeling invigorated.

10. Best retro activity of summer: Rollerblading. It really never fails

11. Best place for a late-night summer chat: on my front lawn, underneath the stars
.
12. Best TV show of summer: The Most Extreme . . . I really don’t watch TV very much. But I found myself intriged with the topics of this show. The Most Extreme Resorts. The Most Extreme Water Parks. The Most Extreme Haunted Places. The Most Extreme Slime. And the list continues

13. Best way to kill time while waiting in line: Phase 10. Yup, we played while waiting for a movie, we even got some random people waiting with us to join in.

14. Best place to hold a family reunion: Koosharem UT Probably one of the smallest places you'll ever go that could be considered a place worth dwelling. But with my relatives, that's just the way we roll.

15. Best drink of summer: Homeade root beer with a few secret additions.
